I searched a lot on this subject just before leaded was discontinued
here
(Iran) for our 504
Valve seats on aluminium heads are hardened (steel) and don't have
problems
with unleaded. And her last 2 years, 30'000 - 40000 km.s or so (don't
remember exactly, maybe more) were on unleaded, without any lead
replacement
additive. (BTW no pinging, but runs better on super unleaded!)
If you have octane / pinging issues, that's a different matter.
MTBE reduces milage :(
