In Washington no inspection eather, you see cars from the 60s to
current all the time. Many times in rural areas, most cars are older
(mostly mid 70s vintage, cause they are rear wheel drive). My parents
get a car when its a few years old, and drive it till it dies. They
keep it up very well, my parents 94 Crown Victoria has 250,000 on the
original engine, and still looks like a new car (always garaged,
always kept up). If the engine goes, they will just buy another one
(engine), and have it installed. People sometimes in rural areas just
drive it till it looks crummy, and then get a few year old model. My
parents last car? 1978 Oldsmobile (purchased 1983) 98 Gas. It went
for 260,000 miles on original engine, then it just got too tired, but
there were a lot of quality issues, so in 1996, they got the Crown
    Victoria.

I plan to drive my 505 till its in the same boat, but it def needs a
new paint job if its gonna last that long (120,000 miles turn this
week). The mechanicals are great, its just keeping everything else
going and functioning that is the issue!
