Take my word. Here in Finland, where we put salt the roads at winter
time and our summer is nothing but a constant rain, cars do rust
    quickly.

My friend works at the car painting shop as a painter. He says that
since 1987 Peugeots and Citroens have been best cars against rust.
    They simply don't rust.

Japanese (especially Toyotas, Hondas and Subarus) are worst followed
closely by german Opel and Ford. Even mighty Mercedes rusts more
than these "crappy french cars". This is why there is lot of those
20.000 Peugeot 405's still on the road and Subaru Legacy and Toyota
Camry is nowadays quite rare sight. (Saab, Volvo, VW and BMW are on
    the middle glass).

    Pasi from Finland
    405 SRI 1988(no rust ever)
309 GT 1987 (rust only on parts that have been repaired after
    accident in '90)
305 GL 1978 (used to be rust, thanks to my friend not anymore)
