sounds like the '89 SRi I had a couple of years ago. Badly rusted sills,
wheel arches, doors, roof, and even rusted/rotten chassis legs. It was as if
the thing was stored in a vat of salt at night! I junked it after the police
pulled me over for driving a deathtrap ;)

That's what I thought too, but in Québec City last summer I saw a
1989 405 Mi16 and it was not only rusty, entire sections of the
rocker panels (sills) were missing and rust was bubbling up on the
rear fenders :-O
