Maybe they then have some extra protection at Scandinavian countries?
Or maybe it is the import company that does that?
Anyway here in Finland (like in Sweden) we have this car inspection
once a year (ordered by government), in this inspection the
inspector has to (among other things) examine the bottom of the car
for rust.
Usually when I bring my car to inspection the inspector says "no use
to check the rust from a Peugeot, they don't rust" Sometimes they
check the bottom usually not, depends on person. Mostly they are
interested in braking system and steering...
Then you have 30 days to fix the problem or your car will be banned
from traffic.
I don't know how it is in North-America but I never had to bring my
Buick Regal LS for an inspection in Vancouver BC, where I lived a
while.
