    Jake,

    Sad to say, the cable housing is what generally breaks when the sunroof
    fails. The nylon tubing usually breaks at either the upper or lower end
    next to the enlarged fitting which attaches the assembly to the roof or
    trunk brace. Repair must involve preventing the slick nylon tubing from
    rotating.
