4 HP 22 TRANSMISSION BEHAVIOR

Today I experienced what I think is a problem with the 4 HP 22 transmission
in my '91 Wagon. Perhaps somebody has experienced this too. I was driving
about 65 mph and when I tried to accelerate I started to experience some chatter
and jerking of the car. After I got off the expressway and drove home it
would also happen at lower speeds, particularly when I tried to accelerate or go
uphill. I'm pretty sure it isn't the engine, since it runs pretty good and I
have no problem at idle.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem, or suggestions about where to get
another good 4 HP transmission would be appreciated.
