Taking your car to a tire shop to simply have tires installed/rotated
can lead to endless frustration ranging from cracked centercaps to
warped front rotors and stripped [lugnut]threads and buckled up
    underbody panels!
Ever had to change a roadside flat w the Peugeot factory wrench, only
to spin the socket right off the tool? You can probably thank your
local tire shop for over tightening the lugnuts!
20 years ago, I was advised by a factory 'ordained' Peugeot mechanic,
that the lugnuts should be hand-torqued down to about 68ft/lb; could
be 65? or let's say 70 to be on the safe side...
This makes sense, because Peugeot uses acorn-type lugnuts, which fit
snugly into their recesses, and don't require nearly the high torque
settings most shops recommend [for liability reasons?]. Cleverly- the
alloy is softer than that of the studs, so these are less likely to
get stripped. A light application anti-size [thread lube] works well
to prevent corrosion in damp climes, and further problems in case you
have to change a roadside flat, using the factory tools.
