West Coast French Automobile Owner’s Gathering & Car
Show
Saturday, January 15, 2005 – Santa Barbara, CA.
Mark your calendars for Saturday January 15, 2005 for
the West Coast French Automobile Owner’s Gathering,
the first event to our knowledge strictly for the
owners of all French automobiles. For the out of
towner’s, The Motel 6 in Camarillo will be your
meeting place, located at : 1641 E. Daily Dr. in
Camarillo, CA. 93010 1-(805)-388-3467. Camarillo is
about halfway between L.A. & Santa Barbara. We have
secured some sponsors for the event, however there
might be a minor charge to help cover the extra cash I
need to spend to secure extra parking for that not
covered by the sponsors, it should not exceed $10.
The itinerary should run like this : In an effort to
give all those participating an enjoyable scenic drive
on the beautiful Southern California coastline our
initial meeting destination for everyone will be at El
Matador State Beach, located at 32900 Pacific Coast
Highway (P.C.H.), Malibu, CA. 90265 at around 8:00
a.m. For those travelers staying at the
aforementioned Motel 6 in Camarillo, Randy will meet
you in the parking lot of said motel at 7:15 a.m., we
will then proceed as a group to El Matador State Beach
where we will meet with all the SoCal attendees at
8:00 a.m., we will then return for breakfast at the
I.H.O.P. restaurant that is located directly across
the street from the Motel 6 at around 9:30 a.m., we
can have breakfast there, then I guess at around 11:00
a.m. or whenever everyone is finished we will proceed
as a group up the 101 freeway along the coast to our
final destination of Leadbedder State Beach in Santa
Barbara, where the car show / gathering will begin,
after that it’s up to you guys as far as how long each
of you wishes to stay. I’d imagine a few hours then
you can spend the rest of the day in beautiful Santa
Barbara walking around, & see the pier, the old
mission, the college (UCSB), main street, ect. There
is also a great children’s park complete with a
Merry-Go-Round for any interested in bringing their
children.
NOTE : The purchase of breakfast will be you own
responsibility, lunch also will be whatever / whenever
you decide to go & get it. – Please be gassed up &
ready to roll Saturday morning.
NOTE : For those driving to El Matador State Beach
solo (not with those from the Motel), there will be a
big white Peugeot flag posted at the entrance, I have
given the exact address of the beach but there aren’t
really many addresses posted along the P.C.H. anyway,
you may use the posted “Yahoo Maps”
http://maps.yahoo.com/dd
link to get close & then call Randy on his cell
1-(805)-625-0601, if you need further assistance
locating the beach. There are restroom facilities at
both El Matador & Leadbedder beaches, additionally
Leadbedder has shops, restaurants, ect.
NOTE : I hope this will be a fun, exiting &
informative event for all, great lengths have been
reached by those organizing the event to try and make
it as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved,
please leave all personal grudges & bad feelings
toward anyone participating at home and extend the
same friendship toward everyone as has been extended
to you.
I need everybody who is planning on attending (out of
state or not) to please call or email me so I can make
a list of every attendee so if you show up late we
don’t leave you behind. If you have further questions
please call me at [Randy Porter – 1-(805)-625-0601 –
cell], or email me at : droppedmi16@yahoo.com.
