Great list - but storage is going to be a key for many of us - so what would your list look like in order of importance?

My list for the 505 Turbo is related to what I just can't get anymore or would be too hard to re-create. With an eye for storage here's my list for the 505 Turbo in order of importance:

    Interior:
1.. Heater fan (I know it's not interior but it's related)
2.. All the electrical bits and switches I can possibly get from the interior (Including ECU, window switches, window solenoids, power window motors, instrument cluster, interior light assemblies. etc. Small, easy to remove, and easy to store.)
3.. Lock sets if keys are available
4.. Gear shift assemblies if they're tight. (I'd love to make up a short shift kit for this car)
5.. Seat covers from the seats if in good shape. (Remove hog rings and slip them off.)

    Exterior:
1.. Side mirrors if they're good.
2.. Window glass (Complete set if possible - front for sure but I've had rear side glass get broken by bastard thieves)
3.. headlight / tail light assemblies
4.. wiper motor + assembly (incl arms)
      5.. Complete set of moldings
6.. Sheet steel / body parts if you can (In order: Front fenders, front hood, front bumper incl shocks rear bumper incl shocks, trunk lid)
      Engine/underhood:
      1.. Head.
      2.. AFM
      3.. Turbo.
      4.. Piston rod assemblies.
5.. Sensors and relays (any and all!)
      6.. Intercooler
      7.. Starter
      8.. Altenator
9.. Water pump and clutch assembly
      10.. Fuel pumps
      11.. Complete engine
      12.. Complete tranny
      13.. Differential
      14.. Torque tube.
    Suspension/brakes:
1.. ABS stuff (if so equipped)
      2.. wheels
      3.. Steering rack
4.. Rust free front strut assemblies
5.. Rear shocks if oil free and clean.
6.. Rear control arms if in rust belt.
      7.. rotors
      8.. calipers

This is off the top of my head and stealing from Koll's list :) I'd love to see how others would prioritize the list in order of importance with storage being the limiting factor. If storage is unlimited - then keeping spares is wide open - unfortunately most of us don't have that luxury!

I personally have all the above spares in various boxes in the garage, plus I have another 505 Turbo parts car, V6 parts car, and 2 XN6 parts cars that I have yet to strip. Storage fees are adding up to be far more than the cars are worth but I can't let them go without first stripping them! The 85 505 Turbo is a beautiful car - but the motor is shot. I'm thinking of swapping an XN6 in to it and using the L-jet to run it - crazy but it might make for a neat project to save parting out a nice car.

      Let's try again.

      1. Headlight assemblies
      2. Taillight assemblies
      3. marker/interior lights
      4. Seats
      5. the rest of interior
      6. dash
      7. AFM
      8. Emission valves (XN6) [remember somone asking about those a while
      back]
      9. Sensors (temp, boost, water,
      10. Tachymetric relay!
      11. water pump/fan clutch
      12. turbo
      13. intercooler
      14. fuel pumps
      15. anetnna
      16. trunk struts
      17. radiator
      18. injectors
      19. spark plug wires
      20. ECU
      21. ABS ECU
      22. ABS valve body
      23. calipers/rotors
      24. wheels/tires
      25. PS Pump
      26. variable PS unit
      27. Cruise control
      28. electric window motors
      29. sunroof cable & motor (provided they work) - might even be worth it
      as experimental cadavers otherwise.
      30. intake manifold
      31. head - yeah, I know a lot of work, but worth it.
      32. starter
      33. door locks/keys/handles
      34. ignition lock/glove box lock/truck lock
      35. grill
      36. fenders - I'd do this - you never know when you'll need them
      37. trunk lid (boot lid)
      38. overflow bottls
      39. vacuum pump (under overflow bottle)
      40. coil
      41. blower motor
      42. cowl vent cover
      43. windshield washer bottle
      44. brake proportioning valve
      45. struts & shocks
      46. springs
      47. assorted relays behind exposed dash
      48. ignitor
      49. windsheild washer arms
      50. hood

There, I got half way there...

I plan on doing a couple when I get my next house. All parts will be
cleaned, labeled and stored, ready to go when needed. Except, I'll also
pull the motor, tranny, torque tube, diff axles, suspension, and just
about anything else that's bolted to the car.

There are too many things I don't know how to disassemble on our cars.
I figure I'll break 20% of the stuff I'm trying to pull, but learn how
not to do it. Then, when I work on my car, I'll know what to do.
