As with many of you, I am ambivalent about them, much perhaps as in the same
way some people dislike shoulder belts- yes, they mess up your clothes, but
not as well as a windshield messes up your face. My first experience with ABS
was on black ice at 75 mph; they saved my life later in a large puddle at speed.
There are other times I had lock-up in a turn without ABS and slid
uncontrollably into another vehicle. I absolutely hate my 405 ABS in the rain, until I
have to stand on the pedal.
I shall become accustomed to ABS. I shall never, however, learn to accept
"ATM Machine", "PIN Number", "VIN Number", or "ABS Brakes".
