I know. So "connected" wasn't strong enough. Rebadged and part of is
more like it.
I remember the 1990+ Volkswagen Passats and the Corrados had fluid filled
motor mounts.
They were great until they oozed silicone out and basically went to
crap. This usually happened in 4-5 years or close to 100k.
Personally, I think Lexus benefitted greatly from smart timing. And
remember, while the LS400 was a hit, the ES250 left much to be desired. So
they aren't perfect.
I will admit though once they realized what they needed they sold a ton of
the new ES300s.
Strangely enough, when the LS400 came out it was the Q45 by Infiniti that
had everyone ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Nissan let a great thing slip through
their fingers, like they did with most of their line. The Sentra became a
shadow of its former self. (The great Sentra SE-R replaced with this 200SX
thing?) The new pickup didn't sell nearly as well as their older
