I used to live in DC and can strongly recomend Kensington Simca Service. They used to take great care of a 504 wagon I had, and had serviced it for years for the prior owner.

Their number (hopefully still) is 310-564-1377; 4114 Howard Ave., in Kensington. The father is Imre Varhidy; the son is Emery. They were very honest and knowledgable about Peugeots. A real rarity on both counts.

I recall recommending them to the list some time ago; someone called them and I'm not sure if they still do Peugeots, however.....

    Hi, Gashaw:

If Chantilly is not too far out of DC for you, you might also try Bruce
Redwine at Chantilly Service Center Inc. (14240E and South Sullyfield
Circle, Chantilly 20151 703-263-7208 ) He didn't even bat an eye when I
rolled in, out of the blue, with my 84 505 wagon about 3 years ago. He told
me he had worked on them in the past and seemed to enjoy the opportunity to
do so again. Bruce is pleasant competent, honest and reasonably priced. He
probably won't remember me, but he installed a new Motorola alternator in my
    wagon on an Easter Weekend.

I had driven down from Ottawa, Canada and got an alternator light at
Harrisburg, PA on our way to DC. My techical whiz, Mike Aube, told me via
cellphone (never leave home without it!) to rap the housing sharply to try
to reset the brushes, which, along with some heartfelt prayers, it worked
all the way to DC - in the deep dark of night, through York, Baltimore, DC,
and on to Arlington. The next day, an Easter Saturday, I found a shop -
Precision Automotive, just around the corner from Bruce that had a
replacement unit for my 17 year old OEM - and was even offered the choice of
a Paris LeRhone or the Motorola. To then find Bruce almost next door made
the whole exercise almost unbelievable - and certainly an answer to prayer!

    Cheers

    Mike in Toronto
