Peugeot Blocked ignition tumbler

    I canšt get the key into the Neiman ignition tumbler of my 89 505 DL wagon
    (5 spd, 155K). I suspect it has something to do with the pin that falls into
    the rectangular opening at the end of the key. No previous problems or hints
    of a problem. Steering is locked (as normally).

    Any clues? Can ordinary automotive locksmiths fix this?
