    Steve you are right the pin that goes through the hole in your key is out
    of place. I took an ordinary safety pin and bent over the very tip 90
    degrees (1/32") into a hook. You can probably hear the chime going
    constantly as well since the lock thinks the key is in the car.

    Take your new tool and go into the lock. Gently pull back. Try a number of
    gentle moves. When the chime stops your lock will work fine. Put the tool in
    your glove box for next time and lubricate all your locks with Loc Ease.
