    I have some planes, and I, too, have noticed that owners of antique planes
    tend to fly them fairly frequently whereas owners of antique cars tend to polish
    them or drive them on the parade/ car show circuit.

    By the way, we drive all our Peugeots and rarely wash or wax them (altho the
    recieve excellent PREVENTATIVE maintenance ....... and they rarely let us
    down.
