My 405 has the XUD9 1.9 engine without turbo and as per
specifications, it should be putting out 71bhp. However, the engine
is not in pristine condition anyway (been running since 1994) and
maybe the output is not as much. But, I have seen with Peugeot
diesels (including my earlier 309 GLD with the same engine but only
65bhp), the age of the engine and weak compression doesn't seem to
make much difference in driving, excepting the fact that the
temperature tends to rise and fall easily.
