I found Quebec to be like that - everyone seemed to know how to drive at that speed. Slow traffic to the left, faster traffic to the right, and best of all - flashing to pass! Worked great.

We were driving through in an 83' Nissan Sentra wagon, and the middle lane was 140 - 150 kph, passing lane was 160 kph and faster. Little Sentra topped out at 160 - but was rock stable as it had been mechanically restored for the trip out. (New brakes, bearings, suspension, wheels and tires.)

As I posted - I never condoned anything other than driving with the flow of traffic. I should also mention that any of the gas Peugeot's can hang with the elevated speeds in total comfort with fantastic driver control.

Don't get me wrong, I love to go fast too, it's just that I'd hate to see a
      fellow Peugeotiste
get mowed down in rush hour traffic, or have his license yanked. When I
drove up to Scotland once from London during an extended stay in the UK, the
M4 was an 85 MPH parking lot. Never seen anything like it, nobody hogging
the hammer lane, everyone signaled, it was poetry in motion.

My best citation was for 91 in a 75 on I-10. I was slowing down, after
having tried to keep up with a Honda Odyssey minivan.

Ken, I must say you have got to have a supply problem, why else would fuel
cut off at idle only after a 90 MPH run?
