Actually, part of my reason for driving an old Peugeot is to understand a
little more about my ancestors, who emigrated here from southern France in
the late 17th century and heritage. How fortunate they are from a country
that produces a car! French cars HAVE been neglected in this country
because the French advertisers refused to suck up to anyone in any way to
sell cars. They believe the thing should live or die on its own merit, and
if it didn't, too bad, your loss.
One of the aircraft in the fleet I maintain is made in Canada, (French
speaking) and it is fairly annoying thing to work on. It's a very strong
airplane, though and I feel very safe flying in it. They really do things
their own way. Very French.
Because of their relatively lower price, and quality of design and
construction, great ride and handling balance, I am becoming more and more
enamored of these cars.
