A year or two ago someone on this list asked PMA how many Peugeots they estimated were still on the road. If I remember correctly, the answer was around 44,000 vehicles. I wondered how they got that figure. Here's what I was told three weeks ago. PMA had a consultant from 99 to 01 do a market research on how many Peugeots were still on the road in the US not including Canada and also recommend how to install a dealer network. by the middle of 2001, they had their stragegy worked out and were going to market the cars in the US in 2002. But then 9-11 happenned along with the french car bashings and he was ordered to dismantle the whole project. The consultant suggested entering Canada anyway but that was denied. I was hoping to ask more questions today but the consultant was not at the meet.
