Currently in Canada Regular Unleaded is about $1.25 per liter
4 liters is approximately 10% more than a US gallon
so in India at 1.36/liter X 4 - 10% = $4.90 US per US gallon
and in Canada at 1.25/liter X 4 - 10% = $4.50 per US gallon
And after the US brings democracy to the rest of the Middle East
gas will probably be about the same price as a share of Halliburton Oil
or about $50. Whether that will be for a gallon or a liter is anybody's guess.

In India, premium petrol (its not 97 octane, though) costs 1.36USD and regular diesel costs 0.84USD per litre. I don't know what that converts to in gallons, but you can calculate.
India will be getting Venezuelan oil soon, as the two countries have signed a pact where Indian oil cos will do exploration and Venezuela will give India oil. India is also working out a pipeline from Iran through Afghanistan and Pakistan. So, we expect cheaper fuel in a few years time, I suppose.
