RE: Arizona Peugeots - need new homes rather than the crusher!

Hi Ron,
Gosh, what an awful tale of municipal mischievousness! I never can quite
understand that these things really are happening, but I have to believe it,
when they do. I had a couple cross-country ski through my property a few
years ago, then say to a common neighbor that they thought they'd report me
to the authorities for my collection of Volkswagen Squarebacks in my woods.
(They hadn't been in my yard to find the eleven Peugeots!!) Our
neighbor-in-common suggested that they think twice -- they might need my
name on a petition some day, and I might be more inclined to help, had I
been left alone with my cars that were of no particular annoyance. "Oh," he
said to them in concluding the conversation, "You did, of course, have his
permission to be back there on his property cross-country skiing -- didn't
you?"
Not the same situation, but I can commiserate, even though I don't have the
garage space or the shipping funds to help out.
Gene

Subject: Arizona Peugeots - need new homes rather than the
crusher!
Hi:
I'm helping a car buddy, Dave Gunderson, who is under fire by The
Soviet Socialist Republic of Pima County (our horrid county
government) because of his car collection on his 1.5 acre property out
in the boondocks.
The "SSRPC" has been forcing him to divest himself of cars or face the
seizure of his cars and, potentially, his property - that's the latest
threat.
As a result, Dave is going to sell most of his Peugeots if possible.
He has 6 Peugeot 404s - of which he wants to keep 2 - and one '76
Peugeot 504 gas station wagon, and two Peugeot 505s (one '86 and one
'85). Most are relatively rust-free, with one notable 404 exception
that must be a midwest car! None of these have run in a while, and
none will drive home, even 25 miles into Tucson.
He has 5 weeks to get rid of 12 more cars before the next court
hearing. Dave would prefer to sell these to someone who can use
them, either for restoration or parts. But the reality is that they
will have to be crushed if homes are not found, starting about July
15th. The county has already incarcerated him briefly for not
complying quickly enough with their orders to get rid of cars. I know
... unbelievable but true.
He's not looking to sell parts. Dave is retired and his health is not
all that great, so he's not up to parting out cars. If you can
provide a home to one of these, please give him or me a call:
Dave Gunderson in Marana, Arizona: (520) 616-0068 (home)
Ron Shull in Tucson, Arizona: (520) 250-2450 (cell)
If you have an interest in one of these lovelies and need to ship it,
I can research that for you.
Thanks for reading all this.
With Best Wishes,
Ron
