Another Peugeot bites the dust

After doing a little maintenance on the eldest daughter's car (head gasket, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, tune up, brake job, heater core) she got to put another 1,000 kms on it before an inattentive driver drove into it on the left front tire and bent the subframe. The adjuster looks at the car, sees cracked original faded paint, 500K + kms on the clock and says " What do you want me to do here?" The max the insurance will allow is 1500$ plus the tow and storage ( I towed it and stored it) plus we keep the car. The parts will go to repair the replacement car which was due to replace it next year, or so I thought. The replacement 405 only has 166K kms on it and as far as I know only needs a heater core to be mobile. Thems the breaks, darn it!
