I saw these C5s in Paris at the C42 showroom on the Champs-Elysées
two weeks ago, but they do look a little tight in the back seat
compared to my family car. They had the cabriolet show car version
from last fall's IAA and it is superb! Citroën really has their act
    together for styling.

I went into Peugeot too and holy cow are their new cars homely. I
didn't see one that I would consider buying, even if they were
available here in North America. Even the semi-OK 308 CC looks
forced and the Renault Mégane equivalent is so much better-
    proportioned, it's amazing.

It's not just me. While in Paris, I had a get-together with three
members of the Club 404 at Libre-Echange, a brasserie near Clichy. I
asked them whether they liked any current Peugeots and the universal
answer was "elles sont tellement laides" (they are so ugly)! One of
the people was in his twenties and so it wasn't an age thing either.
We had a great chat about 404s and related stuff.

The Peugeot showroom had a 908 HDI in there and a postcard of Le Mans
2008 where you could write a message to anyone and they'd pay the
postage. I wrote something mildly insulting and sent it to myself,
thinking they would not send it, but I got it just after we got
home! Nice touch. I hope they win the 24 h this year, and stay in
the race until 2010 when I might want to see the race in person. We
went to and drove part of the track this year (the public road part).

I didn't bother going to the Peugeot head office on Avenue de la
Grande Armée, due to my lack of interest in their current models and
the dubious effects of me ranting at them about the North American
market the last three times I was there.

I did however check out two 406 Coupés that were used cars at Lohr on
the Main river in Germany, wow is that a sweet car. Beautiful! I'll
    take both of them!

Thanks to p406aut for the very generous use of his 406 on our nearly
5000 km trip through Germany and France. The car saw a lot of
interesting areas and people, as did we. It also set a personal best
top speed at 222 km/h, on videotape!
