Can anyone explain why the PRV V-6 engine only requires regular 89
octane fuel in the late '80s Renaults (Eagle Premier, Dodge Monaco)
and Volvos (760), but requires premium in its Peugeot application (505
    V6)?

Does it REALLY require 91 octane? (That's what the owner's manual
    calls out for...)

Finally, and I know we've done this drill before, but with fuel prices
creeping up, can anyone tell me what they're for mpg in their 505 V6?
Any additional information would be much appreciated (i.e.
    city/highway use, manual/auto tranny, etc.)

I don't own a V6, but there's one for sale nearby that looks nice, but
I'm not a rich man.... Is this car worth getting or should I stick
with the 4 cylinder gas and diesels?
