Nice photos, thanks for sharing!
That must have been - what - 10% of all French cars left in the USA?
The R-16 sure WAS sold in both the USA and Canada; they used to be
quite common in Alberta and BC at least. The early ones in the CDN
market were nicest, with the Euro-lights. Then we got the US version
with 4 sealed beam headlights.....We also got the R-30, which I don't
think the USA did. Those were cool massive V-6 hatchbacks, nice-
looking car for the time. I haven't seen an R-30 in Canada for at
least 20 years!
Nice-looking 504 C, did you have a crawl underneath to inspect the
underpinnings? They are so classic-looking, but also massively rust-
prone. To my eye, the lines have not quite aged as well as those of
the 404 C, however the white is a nasty colour - they tend to look
better in a darker shade.
The Ami 6 was officially imported to Canada for a while, but I'm not
sure about the US. They too had 4 sealed beam front ends.
