It would be worth checking the engine code - it is on the alloy tag on the
front of the block and has PTC and the engine code.
According to Haynes 405 manual, 8 valve XU 1.9 engines (ie XU9) range from
8.0:1 to 9.3:1 compression ratio.
XU9J2 could be a D6A, D6D, DFV, but there is also a range of other XU9
engines, such as XU9J1, XU9JA, XU92C etc
Some of the 1.9 XU engines are rated as high as 130 hp down to 105 or so
from memory.

Also could be autobox, or motor repairs
