Peugeot ventilation control

    Today, when Istarted my 1985 505s, the ventilation control (for air
    direction) was hissing. Putting it in the defrost position stopped it. Is
    thissomething I should attempt todig into and put back together, or is it
    basically not worth the trouble, and better replaced? The detents are also
    no longer perceptiblle.
