Hi everyone,

My name is Rabin James. I hope that some of you may remember me being on the
Peugeot list last year. I used to work in Big River, Saskatchewan, Canada. I
am a huge Peugeot fan and am delighted that a performance group has been
formed.

A lot has changed since last year, including the cars I own! I now work for
SGI - Saskatchewan Government Insurance. In Saskatchewan, SGI is the only
game in town for the licencing and insuring of motor vehicles. When cars are
in accidents (total loss), SGI gets the cars and either strips them, or sells
them to wreckers. I work in the salvage/recycling part of it. The best part
of this job is the availability of all sorts of stuff that makes being a car
enthusiast a lot of fun. (ie: monster aluminum intercooler from Cummins Turbo
Diesel)

I also have my own shop space that I rent from a friend. I rent two bays in a
fully equipped garage, the best part is having access to all the good stuff:
floor hoists, diagnostics, brake lathes etc.

I have many projects on the go right now, but the going is slowed since I work
full time, take two university classes, and my garage. I did get my 505 Turbo
fixed though. For those who may remember, my 505 Turbo had two dead trees
fall on it while unlicenced and uninsured. The windshield was shattered; a-
pillar, roof, trunk, and hood dented/scratched. The car sat for just over a
year before I went to town on it. I left the body work to be done later, but
basically went through it mechanically.

I sandblasted the struts and brake calipers, and painted them yellow (looks
great on the dark red car). Turned the rotors; new wheel bearings front and
rear (packed with Castrol synthetic grease); new wheel seals; bled out brake
system with Castrol LMA; Castrol synthetic engine, tranny, and gear oil;
complete tune up with new wires, silver plugs, cap and rotor. I also bought
an 85' 505 STI as a doner car. This provided the perfect windshield, and the
dent free trunk with the stealthy STI badge on a Turbo car. Did I mention the
donor car I found is the exact color of my turbo, great luck!

I have lots of ideas and look forward to the wonderful discussions of
modifying Peugeots.

Talk to you soon

Rabin James
