n9te w/auto trans engine oil pan removal

I was able to remove all the bolts on the pan minus the two
at the back, as these are hidden under a bracket that is
attached to the auto trans.

Now, can I remove this thing without any complications?
After that, I'll have the oil pan free, but I'll have a problem
removing it. George says drop the crossmember.

Thing is, if I drop the xmember, doesn't the whole thing drops
with it, not giving me the space to remove the pan? Or do
I free the two motor mounts, drop the xmember, but then
dont I have to sustain the engine?
